Red Kite are a feature at Gigrin Farm, Rhayader in Wales together with Buzzard and Raven. Photograph taken with 20d. Although one can see and enjoy these birds daily from the feeding station, it is much more enjoyable to do the hill walk and see the raptors in their natural surroundings. When you reach the top of the hill - you are actually looking down at the birds - which is really fabulous!! In Spring in the woods - there are lots of smaller species including Pied Flycatcher. A very worthwhile place to visit.

Shortly after having invested in a pager, a message came over that there was a Black Stork on Anglesey some 3 miles east of Holyhead. I decided to make the trip and was just in time, as having only been there a couple of minutes, a gull decided to attack the Stork and he flew - upwards and upwards and away!. He was very high up and I had some problems in being able to focus on this magnificent bird. These pictures are not wonderful but they are a record of a most unusual sighting and a great birding experience.
