KINMEL BAY, CONWY 2011 - SNOW BUNTING

.I love these little birds - and have only been able to photograph them once before. They are only on our coastlines in cold weather during Winter. The winter of 2010/2011 has been one of the worst on record, but it has brought more birds from the north than in previous years. There have been large flocks of Waxwing all over the country - and of course - the Snow Bunting. They are really quite difficult to see as they blend into the background and are easily missed. These are a few I took in January with a Canon 7d and a 400mm lens. It was my third visit, the first visit didn't find them and the second the light was too bad. The third was more successful although it was raining from time to time - and really cold on the beach. Here is a selection.

This final one was taken on the second day when the light was awful and I had to up the ISO to 1000
